Juliana Kost is emerging as a standout guard prospect in the graduating high school class of 2021. The Wappingers Falls New York native is an outstanding shooter with a high basketball IQ. Kost can stretch the floor as a great perimeter shooter while also being able to utilize her tight ball-handling skills to create separation to attack the basket off the dribble. At an early age she is a very mature, focused and goal orientated student-athlete. “My goals are to showcase my skills to the best of my ability, to work hard at each aspect of the game to prepare myself for the next level of competition, and to play as hard as I can at each practice and game.” says Julz who exhibits maximum effort and hustle as an assertive and physical defender. Her smarts and instincts correlate to her being an adept passer and play-maker that can find open teammates for easy baskets. “I think Julz is genuinely passionate about basketball and is self-motivated.” says coach Chris McLaurin. She has also made visits and attended camps at the University North Carolina at Chapel Hill and Yale University just to name a few.
Juliana is off to an excellent start to the summer recruiting season playing at a high level in the 16-under classification while still in the 8th grade at the St Mary’s School of Dutchess County, New York. She is determined to challenge herself as a student-athlete and will attend the Williston Northhampton School-(Easthampton, Massachusetts), a college prep school that offers a holistic education that integrates concrete academics, athletics and community life. Kost will grow as a person as well as a prospect and she is expected to be an integral part of the Williston girls basketball team lead by head coach Amber Rogers. She understands that it takes dedication and hard work to cultivate her game. Her academic prowess enables her to study and excel in subjects like Mathematics and Science in the classroom. “The academics are astounding, the basketball team is very well structured and the school is overall an important stepping stone for me in order to achieve my goals in life. Besides basketball, I enjoy exercising, lifting weights, boxing and playing the guitar.” While still early in her development as a prospect Juliana Kost is well-rounded and possess the skills and intangibles of a promising young student-athlete with a very bright future, look for her to have a great showing this summer and high school season.
