Basketball Wall Street: The Ohio Players

The state of Ohio has always been known for producing good quality girls basketball prospects, and the same could be said for sisters Leah and Rachel Richardson of Albany,Ohio.

Leah, a junior at Alexander High School also in Albany, Ohio excels as a combo-guard with solid ball handling and passing skills to go along with unlimited shooting range on her jump shot. “My goals for this season are to become more of a vocal leader on the court and continue to improve on shooting 43% from 3-point range, I am also working on being a better defender with more tenacity.” Says Leah a 4.0-GPA student that also volunteers at The LIFE Youth Ministry. She has also gained a wealth of experience playing travel club basketball for Team Ohio. “Playing basketball has taught me self discipline, hard work, leadership and the development of life long friendships.” while Leah’s college recruitment is still wide open she has received some interest from division one schools like: Ohio University; Florida Gulf Coast; Hartford; Marshall and Eastern Kentucky.

Rachel, just a freshman at Alexander High School is a skilled point guard prospect that enjoys playing an uptempo style of play. ” I love the high pace, intensity and mentality of basketball as well as the competitiveness of winning big games”. Her 4.0-GPA translates to the hardwood in that she plays the game with a high IQ and is very fundamentally sound. ” My goals for the high school season are to play more aggressively on the defensive end, shoot 40% from 3-point range and 80+% from the free throw line”.Rachel has a knack for taking and making big shots giving her the nickname “clutch”. She has also grasped a lot about herself as a person playing basketball for The Ohio Express travel club.” Playing basketball has taught me to come out of my shell as a person a become more outgoing as well as working well with my teammates”.
Both Leah and Rachel are well rounded coachable student-athletes that also compete in Archery and Marksmanship.
